Hitung Glasir (2) : Unity Formula

Di dalam formula glasir telah ada susunan menurut 3 golongan yang disebut RO-column. Selanjutnya harus diterima sebagai suatu perjanjian didalam kolom/golongan I yaitu didalam golongan RO  apabila dijumlahkan akan menjadi bulat 1. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mempermudah perbandingan formula yang satu dengan yang lain, karena dengan demikian dapat dilihat dengan langsung juga perbandingan antara oksida-oksida dalam golongan RO itu yang bersifat flux dengan oksida-oksida dalam golongan RO2 yaitu SiO2.
Mari kita perhatikan rumus empiris berikut ini.

PbO     0.224
Al2O3        0.139
SiO2       0.408
CaO     0.06


            0.284



 Hasil penjumlahan pada kolom RO diatas 0,284. Untuk menjadikan rumus tersebut sebagai unity formula maka hasil penjumlahn kolom RO harus 1. Sehingga angka-angka tersebut harus dibagi dengan 0,284 dan didapatkanlan unity formula berikut ini:
